Hey guys! I have a friend whose dog was diagnosed with diabetes today. (which I know nothing about). She has a Maltipoo, age 6 yrs.
Her vet sold her a bag of Hill’s Science w/d food (). Her dog REFUSES to eat it! Even after trying to "jump start" by adding chicken broth and tuna juice. The dog is due for an insulin shot at 9: p.m. HELP! What can she give the dog to eat, so that she can administer the shot?? THANKS GUYS! :} (I’ll be on myself, in a few) :}
Ranchhand, do you give your dog anything else to eat besides the w/d and chicken? any additional vegs or fruits? I understand a diabetic dog is suppose to consume a diet hight in fiber and complex carbs??
ADD’L: my friend just found out this a.m. about her dog. She is panicking and called an E-vet. Can she give her dog canned peas/carrots for tonight?
