I was in the pet store today and a woman was there buying a huge number of different types of dog foods. I asked her if she had a lot of dogs and she answered that she ran a boarding kennel and also bred Shar Peis and Westies.She said that she was buying all of the different foods so she would have them on hand for her various boarders.I asked her what she fed her dogs and she said that she mixed Fromm, Nutro Natural Choice and Exclusive ( which I have never heard of.) I told her that I fed mine Merrick,Eagle and Wellness and she said that she couldn’t feed those,as they had rosemary in them and rosemary will kill pregnant or nursing dogs. I didn’t say anything,but I have never heard of that and I would think that it would have to say so on the label,or that the dog food companies wouldn’t even use it if it killed dogs! So my question is,have you ever heard of rosemary killing pregnant or nursing dogs?
But that is in medicinal amounts.It is only used in small amounts as a natural preservative in dog foods. I agree. I think that she was misinformed.
