Okay, so I have two puppies that are currently on Innova puppy food (dry & wet). I just recently got a new puppy and her stool has not been very solid at all, and I was worried that the Innova food might be too rich for her. So I asked my vet if I should switch her food, and to what, and he recommended Eukanuba, Science Diet, and Royal Canin. Now I KNOW the first two are not good foods, but don’t know much about the 3rd. I know you can get it at PetSmart, which makes me think it is not so good. I was thinking of switching them all over to California Naturals or Canidae, since one of the older puppies has loose stool often as well. Should I pick one of those, or follow the advice of the vet?
Just to add– When I got the puppy, I had her on her old puppy food and gradually switched to Innova over a span of about 10 days, so I don’t think the switch was a problem.
Vet’s Kitchen Senior is a natural veterinary complete diet specifically designed for the senior dog. The senior recipe has been specifically designed with lower protein and fat compared to Vet’s Kitchen Adult recipes and with added omega 3 fatty acids from fish oils which can benefit skin, coat and immune system as well as improving the mental abilities in older dogs. There is also added taurine, an essential amino acid vital for the heart in older dogs and high levels of glucosamine and chondroitin to help maintain healthy joints. The recipe has been personally created by veterinary surgeon Joe Inglis and the experienced team of nutritionists at Pets’ Kitchen, and has not been tested on animals other than willing volunteers. It is made in England using ingredients sourced as locally as possible.
My vet highly recommends this dog food, my dogs love it, but the only place I can find it is at my Vets office. Check out the website below and see what you think. It’s called vet formula. I know that just because a vet sells it does not mean it’s quality dog food. Thus…has anyone heard of it. My vet states that the lamb is hypoallergenic. I have problems with my bullies and allergies. They do love it and have had no problems since they have been eating it.
